Kitchen Cook Theory and Practicum
Learn the skills and knowledge to provide excellent food and beverage service at a lodging property. You will understand how kitchen cooks meet superior performance standards, How to use basic kitchen tools and equipment as well as how to adjust recipes for portions as well as special requests and substitutions. Safety and sanitation is a very important and you will learn about the basic kitchen safety guidelines and sanitation regulations. This course when paired with the Kitchen Cook practicum gives the student the opportunity to take the globally
The Hospitality Practicum exposes students to realistic work experience where they can practice what they learned in the classroom. The Hospitality Practicum is a necessary component of the Northern Lights College kitchen cook program through American Hotel & Lodging Education Institute (AHLEI)

*The minimum student requirement is 5 students. If the minimum is not met the class will be cancelled three days prior to class start date.
