Skid Steer - Fort St. John
This course certifies trainees with a Skid Steer Heavy Equipment Operator’s Certificate which permits them to operate a skid steer on a worksite.
Learning Objectives & Specific Outcomes:
Skid Steer Training is a Heavy Equipment Entry-Level Skills Training course. Trainees develop the skills to safely operate skid steer machinery, utilize safe operating procedures and identify hazards on the worksite.
Topics Include:
The 1-day Skid Steer Training Course combines classroom experience with hands-on training. In-class, participants learn relevant provincial and federal skid steer regulations, site and equipment inspection techniques and preventative maintenance, and general safety tips. In the hands-on portion the instructor demonstrates proper operator procedures, covering startup and shutdown procedures, steering and positioning, and loading and hauling. Trainees must pass a written exam and demonstrate proficiency with the machine in a hands-on practicum.
