FSG - Introduction to Programming
This is a great place to start to learn programming that could lead to a career as a computer programmer. Using Just BASIC, a free windows programming language, you will learn to create stand alone applications to use at home, school, or work.

This program is delivered through online learning and consists of reading, hands on assignments, knowledge quizzes and final exam.
This program is for anyone who want to learn the basics of programming for personal or professional use.
Having computer and internet knowledge will support the success of this program.
Open Enrollment
· Download and install the Just BASIC programming language; to create and execute simple Just BASIC programs.
· Use a code editor, compiler, and source code debugger.
· Understand, use, and create the features of Windows.
· Explore Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs)
· Use FreeForm-J to visually design your GUIs.
· Store and retrieve data using variables.
· Convert numbers to strings.
· Create complex applications with conditional programming statements using mathematical, comparison, and logic operators.
· Create and work with loops.
· Work with subroutines and functions.
· Ho to work with text files, sound, and graphics.
· Track down and fix errors.
System Requirements:
Hardware Requirements:
- This course must be taken on a PC. Macs are not compatible.
Software Requirements:
- PC: Windows 8 or later.
- Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge is also compatible.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.
