FSG - Natural Resources Leadership Certificate
COMING WINTER 2024
The Natural Resources Leadership Certificate Program is intended to help natural resource sector companies and others meet the intense demands for effective front-line leaders. Instructors draw on their professional experiences and learners’ expertise, emphasizing experiential learning and life experiences. Learners actively develop their leadership skills through self-paced learning, group interaction, readings, and the use of multimedia materials. The program enhances leadership abilities through eight modules/micro-credentials and a capstone project.
To receive the certificate, the learner must complete all eight micro-credentials and the capstone within two years of starting. Learners have the flexibility to set their timeline for completion. Upon completion of this certificate learners may apply for transfer credit for three academic credits that can be applied to MGMT 301-Management Skills for Supervisors as a required course in NLC’s Advanced Certificate in Management or and elective in the Business Management Diploma.
Learners may also choose to take individual micro-credentials instead of all eight, in which case they will receive a badge of completion.

Learners will meet twice weekly with the instructor for a live online teaching session, recorded for those unable to attend. The instructor will integrate theory with practical examples, small-group discussions, videos, and podcasts.
This program is designed for those working in the natural resources sector that would like to advance into a leadership role.
To benefit from the program, learners should have three to five years of experience working in the natural resources sector or in land management. They should have an active interest in developing their leadership skills and attitudes.
